Guggenheim Rotunda, Experiencing the Void, New York

Architecture is no longer just a vessel for passive contemplation - it becomes a stage for dynamic enjoyment and participatory experience. With this installation, we transform the act of observation into one of active engagement. Rather than gazing into the void, we invite visitors to physically immerse in it. Our proposal introduces a spiraling trampoline net that descends through the iconic Rotunda space of the Guggenheim Museum. This intervention reinterprets the building’s celebrated circulation path as a scenographic journey unfolding downwards along the museum’s spiral ramp. Visitors are no longer just spectators moving along a fixed trajectory - they become participants, propelled into a fluid dialogue with the architecture itself, encouraging a new mode of exploration that challenges traditional museum behavior. In this playful yet provocative gesture, the spatial experience fosters a concept of architecture not just to be seen, but to be felt and enjoyed, blurring the boundaries between art, architecture, and performance, as a breathing playgrounds for collective discovery.
